Seaton Carew

Seaton Carew is a tiny seaside resort in the Borough of Hartlepool, in County Durham, Britain. It is found on the North Sea coast between the city of Hartlepool and the mouth of the Stream Tees. The area is named after Norman French family is called Carou who owned lands in the area and settled there, while Seaton means farmstead or settlement by the sea.

Warm summer days continue to draw in many visitors to the resort's spotless beach, colonnades, and fish and chip eateries. Each Nov a fireworks display and carnival pulls thousands of visitors from across the area to celebrate Bonfire Night. There's music and fairground rides on the Saturday which falls nearest to Bonfire Night, Nov five.

The Green was the crumbling North Shelter housing the previous lifeguard station and public toilets. This has now been demolished while South Shelter behind the bus station was demolished a few years before. Along the primary front at Seaton you will find a selection of eateries, fish and chips, burgers, and candy floss and entertainment colonnades. Stagecoach Hartlepool provide bus services to Seaton Carew from Hartlepool Town Centre, services one and 4A as well as service one to / from Middlesbrough and Port Clarence.

The train station is also served with hourly Northwards Rail services, from Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Newcastle and Hexham. The close by station of Hartlepool also offers a direct London Service controlled by Grand Central.
